In life, God blesses us with many things. Sometimes it’s a great job, lots of money, a smokin’ hot spouse, lots of friends, great health, the list goes on. Highest on that list is the opportunity to gain salvation. A close second to that, is the opportunity to have a child. It is a gift that is indescribable. Those who would take it for granted are fools. A year ago, Heather and I were given this ultimate blessing. It has brought me the greatest happiness, melted my heart, and made the most rotten days good again. This past year has been filled with laughter, sadness, anger, frustration, pride, joy but most of all, love. I can’t thank God enough for it, and I don’t know what I ever did to earn such a gift. It humbles me to my knees. Today we celebrate the birthday of one of the greatest blessings in my life, our wonderful son Owen.
Happy Birthday Little Boy!
Love,
Dadadada
Just a brief update before I crash. Heather was put in the hospital on Wednesday night for extremely high blood pressure, which has stabilized. We expected her to be released this morning. However, she has an extremely high amount of protein in her urine, which is a very negative sign. Physically, she is fine. Physically the baby is fine. Unfortunately, the high protein could become poisonous to both her and the baby. This means the baby could be delivered by c-section as early as within the next 5-7 days. The doctor has ordered her to remain in the hospital until the baby is delivered. Please keep us all in your thoughts and prayers. If you feel compelled to send messages, please don’t text or call on the phone, as both of us are trying to get as much rest as we can. However, feel free to burn up emails and facebook.
Most of you know that Heather and I are expecting child number 1 on October 3 this year. We’re both very excited, and to say that my parents are excited is quite the understatement. I’m nervous and terrified, but looking forward to the experience. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t hoping for a little boy. If we have a girl, I’m going to be hopeless.
We recently visited Canada for the who knows how many-th time. While there, of course, we saw all our wonderful friends from Canada and OLP related adventures, and saw the band performing on 4 nights. These were OLP shows 14-17 for me. Some of the near 2500 pictures I took are available in the Galleries section of the site. I’m also thinking of integrating video onto the site as well, just have to figure that one out.
In the meantime I hope you are all well, and hopefully our paths will cross soon. Take care!
